New wheels look really good. Make sure you tell your insurer. Many/most don't seem to mind or care but some apparently do require you to use only factory fitted wheels. I am sure someone on here said that even other VW Tig wheels of a different size were not always acceptable. I can't see why it makes much difference but you can't be too careful. Worth a phone call to be sure.

Insurance have been informed, annoyingly they are charging ÂŁ25 each time I change wheels, not had this before but always like to make sure everything is declared.
Seems like any excuse to squeeze more money out of the motorist? However, they do serve a needed purpose and do look good so worth it.

This is from the ABI "Most motor insurers do not charge additional premiums for vehicles fitted with winter tyres, provided that the tyres are roadworthy and have been fitted in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions." So it's really down to which insurer you're with. More info here Winter tyres | Motor insurance | | ABI

Winter tyres are usually okay to fit without charge as this would be considered for safety reasons but some insurers would need to know if different wheels are being fitted and this could affect the extra premium.

Yes, sorry, I'd overlooked the OPs title in which they state they were changing the wheels (alloys) as well - yes, that could be the clincher. I seem to recall asking my insurer back in 2018 and they asked if I was changing the wheels as well, and I said no, the winter tyres were going on the same alloys and summer tyres were going into storage, so no additional charge from my insurer. It always pays to ask :)
