Maybe the front left wheel bearing if it's unaffected by road surface but it increases in pitch and loudness with speed ?

Many thanks for the replies. Doesn't sound like a bearing but having it checked by VW. Perhaps just characteristics of 20 inch wheels/tyres and lack of body insulation. Thanks again.

 

Don't believe for one minute that it's a characteristic of the car.

Yeah, Tigs are fairly well insulated against tyre noise. And what tyre noise there is should be evenly distributed or rear-biased, and should be massively dependent on coarseness of tarmac.

 

I am a first time Tiguan owner having recently acquired a 2023 1.5 Sportline. It is running on 20 inch Continental tyres. I am hearing a strange 'humming' resonance quite seperate from usual tyre noise predominantly from the left front side. It is quite pronounced at lower speeds as it becomes less obvious when tyre noise increases. I have had the tyres changed around but issue is still there. Just wondering if any other owners have experienced the same.
Very grateful for any advice please.

I had the same - VW changed the wheel bearings and no change - moved the wheels around and same - then they fitted wheels of another Tig and the noise had gone . It was unseen wear on the continental tyres.
