When entering registration details into the likes of black circles website etc,my 67 plate r line fwd comes back as 235/45/20.
On the tig are actually 255/40/20 contisport 5 contiseal from new which I need to replace very soon(17k miles).
What do other owners of fwd r lines have fitted? Thanks

I think that the 235 size is for Tiguans with the optional 20" wheels, like mine, as they are only 8" wide, whereas the R Line has 8.5" wide wheels and the 255 tyres.
I agree. If you look at the Tiguan configurator on the VW web site, the R-Line Tech's wheels (Suzuka) are fitted with 255/40/R20 tyres whereas the optional 20" wheels (Miramar grey) fitted to the SEL are 235/45/R20 tyres.

You may find like mine and quite a few others, your V5 logbook is incorrect and has it a SEL and therefore the wrong model comes up on websites.
This was the problem I had and I had to get my V5 corrected (there's a big thread on this issue). However, even now, some 3 months after DVLA corrected my V5 to show R-Line Tech, whenever I fill in my vehicle Reg No. on a website, it still comes back to the SEL model and not the R-Line Tech that I have. I suppose it comes down to how often these websites refresh their databases with the DVLA (if ever). If they only take on details of new registrations, then these databases will never be right. I checked Black Circles and that offered me tyres for the SEL and not R-Line Tech. Come to think of it, I don't think I have yet come across a website that has said my car is an R-Line Tech based on the Reg No. They all say SEL. This is a pain, especially when looking for parts and accessories (like tyres).

to be honest the don't look any different tread pattern will be different of course but when I changed to the Pirelli's they were ÂŁ100 per tyre cheaper
x 4 that's a big saving on the contis although I think price of contis have come down somewhat

I got mine shipped over from Germany via giga tyres at ÂŁ152.30 each and took them to my local tyre fitter who fitted them for ÂŁ12 so easy openo is another good supplier much cheaper than blackcircles
