Hi,

I'm new to this forum so go easy. Hello by the way.

So I have a brand new Tiguan R-Line 4motion and am looking to get some winter tyres on standard rims that can be easily swapped over when the snow and ice is due. I'm looking for any advice or recommendations of places selling packages. I'm currently looking at some online which are for the previous Mk1 Tiguan, does anyone know if the bolt pattern and clearance is the same?

This is my first 4x4 so i'm also interested to know how well these tyres perform compared to standard tyres.

Thank you,

Ryan. :D

I live in Kent and some of the roads near me don't get treated, last time it snowed was a bit of a chanllenge in my previous car, hence the upgrade to a 4x4 SUV. I have space to keep the wheels so that's not an issue for me.

I noticed your signature says your white R-Line went missing, I recently saw a brand new unregistered white R-Line on EBay being sold by a salvage company, description said it was damaged during delivery, appeared that something hit the roof and pulled the aerial out from the roof, wonder if that was yours?

I used the standard Scorpions last winter without any issue (nearly all local roads are untreated and it moved off/stopped and handled well in 6" deep snow) but would recommend Nokians if you go for winter tyres. They allowed me to drive (steadily) a Merc C Class on sheet ice without difficulty.

One point to check My insurers would not let me change the rims or sizes on the Merc without invalidating my insurance. This forced me to buy exact Merc rims (ÂŁ's) and exactly the same size tyres.....

Hope this helps
Ok, might see how I get on this winter and see if I need them at all. Thank you
