Having spent some time with main VW agents who did not know about off peak scheduled charging and my new car and after phones calls from Germany it has been confirmed that the Tiguan ehybrid 2024 cannot be charged on a time schedule from the app or wall mounted charger. VW could not explain why this facility is no longer available. So it would seem that charging is only possible on plugging in. In order to use off peak electricity it means manually plugging in at 12.30 am!!

Hi Usman, do you still have this problem? I had the same thing but the software update (that is supposed to make scheduled charging possible) was installed last month. I haven't dared to try it yet, because I'm worried that the same issue will happen again (flat battery etc). Have you had the software update and can you now preschedule a charge? Thanks!

Even if you get a positive reply, you’re still going to be on edge seeing if yours works for the first time. You may as well just get that first charge over and done with, it’s the only way you will know for sure. Can you use a cloth or something to muffle the alarm in case it goes off? At least that way you can rest assured if nothing’s changed and the battery flattens and the alarm goes off, you won’t be disturbing your neighbours.

Another Golf e-hybrid interloper here.... well, new Ohme home pro installed today. Scheduled the first charge since picking up the car for overnight tonight. Plugged in. After a while, the car charge light went red and stayed red... Having read the issues on this forum about 12v battery draining I cancelled and started again. I followed the advice helpfully provided by Golf GTE8.5 to set the charge to max, lock the car, then switch to smart mode on the Ohme app (in my case EDF Goelectric tariff which is cheapest between midnight and 05:00am. Light went solid white and now has gone off. Wall box says (correctly) car power is zero, target 80% and charge time to start at 00:01 and probable end 03:15. I am hopeful!

I'll update sometime tomorrow to say if this work-around works. A nuisance, but not end of the world if it does (and if it works, then profuse thanks to Golf GTE8.5!). By the way - I read this posted on a SEAT/Cupra Leon forum by someone who contacted SEAT:

"This is from Seat Digital

Charging schedules and remote profiles (through My SEAT app) are unfortunately not currently available on new Seat Leon, PHEV powertrain vehicles. This is because of a delay in the vehicle’s software development. This will continue to affect all vehicles built with the PHEV GEN II technology until quarter three (Q3) 2025 when the updated software will be released.

These vehicles can retrospectively gain this feature when the software has been released and completes the necessary update process".

Update - charging started at midnight - green blinking light - and then turned off when reached 80% with no further lights after around 03:15.
My only raised eyebrows are twofold:
a) Ohme app kept coming up with "next session starts in 1 hours 48 mins)" despite nothing further being scheduled. It actually didn't start chrging again but then kept deferring the "next session" start info to times which seemed arbitrary. May ask Ohme for advice on that
b) Smart meter showed only 12kwh rather than 17 used - but at a rate far higher than normal day time rate (should have shown £2.28 but showed £5.33). Odd, but that's one to take up with EDF.
So, the key thing of timing the overnight charge seemed to work effectively...

It took a year but at last, after two days at the dealer, ‘Charging loc.’ is now on the Charging screen. Not yet used it in anger. I assume it should work.

Was this update exclusively to add the missing charge timer or can expect to see other exciting updates or improvements not related to the timer?
